For the third year in a row, European carpet
manufacturer Desso was prominently present at the celebration
evening of the Dutch Fashion Awards. This year's edition of the
prestigious annual fashion event took place at the 'Grote Kerk'
(the old church) in The Hague on Friday November 30th.
Desso provided the red carpet on which nominees and other guests
entered the grand old church that hosted the event.
The 32 metre long red carpet was made from Parade Corso,
a high quality carpet from Desso's consumer collection. In
addition, carpet tiles from Desso's commercial Essence collection
covered a large section - about 240 square metres - of the
backstage area.
Drive for innovation
The annual Dutch Fashion Awards underline the presence of
Dutch design in the international fashion scene. The event was
created to assemble the Dutch fashion field and to boost innovative
design. Alexander Collot d'Escury, CEO of Desso: "It is an honour
to make such a visible contribution to this prestigious event and
even more so because we were present for the third year in a row.
The enormous amount of talent that is present on this special
evening and the collective drive for innovation is very
inspiring."
Renewal
"Desso and the Dutch Fashion Awards are an excellent
match in terms of ambition and spirit", says Collot d'Escury. Desso
has three innovation pillars: creativity, functionality and Cradle
to Cradle®. The theme of this year's edition of the Dutch Fashion
Awards was 'renewal'.
"The Dutch Fashion Foundation, the initiator of this event, refers to renewal as the driver of the fashion phenomenon, and rightfully so. This theme appeals to our organisation and we are therefore pleased to have made a contribution to this great event."
